Porta Volta is the chair by Molteni&, a novelty launched at the Salone del Mobile 2023, designed by Herzog & de Meuron. A captivating seat, Porta Volta is characterized by the U-shaped solid wood backrest that envelops and at the same time acts as a support for the armrests. The base is characterized by four legs slightly inclined outwards, which give greater stability.
A special edition Porta Volta chair will be used in the main reading room of the National Library of Israel, in Jerusalem.

Porta Volta is a seat that can be customized in terms of typology: the dining chair (h 71 cm) and low chair (h 66 cm) versions are available, suitable for the living area and in the finishes: the solid wood structure can be in Canaletto walnut, black oak , Sunrise oak, graphite oak or eucalyptus. The upholstery is available in the Molteni&C range of fabrics and leathers, as well as a special selection of mohair velvet. The cushion can be customized by choosing from four colors: sunflower yellow, royal blue, daisy pink or silver gray.
The dining chair version has the following dimensions: L 63.5 x D 54 x H 71 cm x H seat 49 cm
The armchair version has the following dimensions: L 64.5 x D 54 x H 66 cm x seat H 41 cm
