Molteni&C Round D.154.5 Armchair
The Round D.154.5 armchair is a project by Gio Ponti from 1954 reissued by Molteni & C for the Heritage Collection in collaboration with the Ponti Archives. Avant-garde forms characterize the seat, born in the years in which the creativity of the Milanese architect turns towards innovative solutions aimed at the essentiality of forms.
Also thanks to the historical context: the end of the Second World War leads to a break with the past, including the availability of new materials that make up the armchair: such as the use of Vipla (plastic material) for the coverings, curved plywood to fix between them the backrest and the seat, and easily assembled metal feet with non-slip tip.

Product description
The Round D.154.5 armchair owes its name to the soap shape of the seat and backrests. It is also called Eight pieces because there are eight elements that compose it: backrest, seat, two curved plywood elements and four legs, which screws to the seat hold everything together. Feet in metal with non-slip tips that can be easily assembled.
Characterized by an ash plywood structure and feet in black chrome or satin brass, the Round D.154.5 armchair can be upholstered in all the fabrics and leathers of the Molteni & C range.
